GAS MASKS – Formally known as respirators. First off, please do not consider buying gas masks off of ebay and surplus stores. At least, if I cannot persuade you not to, know what you are buying before you go ahead and try saving money. There are many many obsolete, expired, 100 percent ineffective gas masks being sold on the internet and surplus stores. It doesn’t matter which country you are buying from, or which country manufactured them, and which country you are patriotic to. There are obsolete ones from every country that produced them, and there are some out there that were manufactured with defects from the get-go and so should never have been circulated. Buyer beware! I am going to list some gas masks that are recommended, and then some that are not. I will also list some for children and pets. Though some of you may roll your eyes at that last population, I know there are some people who would die for their pets, so we need to make sure they have what they will search for with every breath.

Effective Adult models:

1. K-I Deluxe military kit. 3. Child Safe Protective Gas Mask Hood. This is the Bardas system used in Israel for children approximately 3 to 8 years of age. It has positive air pressure to keep out contaminants, bladder device, drinking device, a blower motor powered by lithium batteries that are included, to keep positive air pressure and regulate cooling air flow for the child, the hood covers the child from the head to the mid-torso, with a clear lense for his/her face, NBC filter. This kit is extremely lightweight for the child. Price is from 275.00 U.S. and up. Extra filters and battery packs can be ordered.

4. Baby Safe Pro Infant Protective Wrap for infants and children 3 months to 3 years. This includes a Shmartaf hood which is better than the Scapehood system, better because it is reusable and has replaceable filters and batteries.There is a filter connected to a powered blower pushing air through and providing positive air pressure, preventing leakage of air. The infant can be fed with the included bottle, without risking the protective seal being opened. Price is from 265.00 U.S. and up. Extra batteries and filters available.

5. Pet Safe Enclosure. The pet cage or crate is placed inside the protective enclosure. The NBC protection is provided as with humans. It operates for 6 hours by battery and can use replaceable lithium batteries you purchase at stores. This application has been monitored and approved by veterinarians. There are three sizes, regular, large and extra large and you provide your own crate. Prices are from 324.00 to 475.00 U.S. depending on the size required.
