Haiti Relief with Global Colors

There are a lot of people out there with ability and desire to donate a lot. There are also some people willing to pay their own way to Haiti during their vacation days, or any days, simply to help out with specialized skills or just sheer muscle and determination. There are many organizations out there at the moment. There is one that I am focusing in on because it is setting up a camp in Jacmel for about 40 volunteers, complete with tents, showers, a generator, internet and a few other luxuries, for those willing to pay their way and join a group who need some manpower or womanpower. This registered non-profit organization is Global Colors. You can read about this grassroots program that is reaching out to wherever the need is all over the globe. Barton Brooks established this charity with the help, support and public relations of several people. He has stressed on his latest blog update and youtube video that they are trying to purchase as many Coleman tents or similar ones, as possible, as well as water purifiers costing 35.00 that that last a family for five years. The water filters are supplied by AquaPure in the Dominican Republic, and take very little time to arrive. They are hoping to find a company who can donate tents. Right now, purchasing them from the U.S. and shipping them is not cost effective. They are also looking for tents that can stand up in the rainy seasons coming soon. Read up about the needs and helping Haiti in their efforts to survive and one day thrive. Some volunteers would simply be helping the children by teaching classes, giving orphanage staff some breaks to their overloaded work, stress and shock. Read more on the site:
